Who we are

Richmond Literary Press was founded by Richmond resident Zoe Verner, granddaughter of the prolific crime writer Gerald Verner, who also lived and wrote in Richmond. Storytelling is deeply rooted in Zoe’s family heritage. She grew up surrounded by books and is immensely proud of her grandfather’s legacy, particularly his connection to the golden age of crime fiction and to authors such as Agatha Christie. Gerald Verner’s work continues to be read and enjoyed today, and that enduring love of storytelling has greatly influenced Zoe’s passion for publishing.

Zoe has worked hard to build a dedicated team to guide authors through every stage of the publishing journey. The team includes experienced editors and talented designers who create striking, high-quality book covers while working closely with authors to bring their vision to life. Everyone involved is approachable and supportive, something that was especially important to Zoe when building the team.
